Towards Event-Based Traceability in Provenance-Aware Supply Chains
نویسنده
چکیده
The sharing of product information plays a central role in coordinating the actions and decisions undertaken by supply chain trading partners. The Electronic Product Code Information Service (EPCIS) is an EPCglobal standard, that aims to enable the sharing of serial-level product related information via the Electronic Product Code (EPC). Central to the EPCIS data model are events that describe specific occurrences in the supply chain. This paper presents a unified, provenance-aware framework, driven by Semantic Web standards and Linked data principles for representing and sharing EPCIS events on the Web of data. Event-based linked pedigrees are utilised as the basic artifact for exchanging knowledge in supply chains. Traceability is implemented through the automated generation and validation of linked pedigrees. We exemplify our approach using the pharmaceuticals supply chain and show how counterfeit detection is an implicit part of our traceability framework.

Modelling and Linking Transformations in EPCIS Governing Supply Chain Business Processes
Supply chains comprise of complex processes spanning across multiple trading partners. The various operations involved generate large number of events that need to be integrated in order to enable internal and external traceability. Further, provenance of artifacts and agents involved in the supply chain operations is now a key traceability requirement. In this paper we propose a Semantic web/L...
متن کاملTowards an Ontology-Driven Blockchain Design for Supply Chain Provenance
An interesting research problem in our age of Big Data is that of determining provenance. Granular evaluation of provenance of physical goods--e.g. tracking ingredients of a pharmaceutical or demonstrating authenticity of luxury goods--has often not been possible with today's items that are produced and transported in complex, inter-organizational, often internationally-spanning supply chains. ...

The sharing of product and process information plays a central role in coordinating supply chains operations and is a key driver for their success. “Linked pedigrees” linked datasets, that encapsulate event based traceability information of artifacts as they move along the supply chain, provide a scalable mechanism to record and facilitate the sharing of track and trace knowledge among supply c...
متن کاملTowards Semantic Provenance in CRISTAL
Traceability is an important feature of workflow based systems, and is a key source of provenance data. This paper presents CRISTAL, a mature software platform developed and used at CERN for experiment construction at the LHC. It is entirely workflow based capturing provenance on every aspect of its use from application development to end-user interaction. In this paper we summarize some initia...

Supply Chains present many research challenges in Computing, such as the modeling of theirs processes, communication problems between theirs components, logistics and processes management. This paper presents a supply chain traceability model that relies on a Web service-based architecture to ensure interoperability. Geared towards assisting quality control in the agricultural domain, the model...
